Goal of 300 Donated New Coats for Local Youth in Foster Care During National Adoption Awareness Month
GAITHERSBURG, Md., Oct. 30, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- National Adoption Awareness Month begins on November 1, the same day that Comfort Cases and CNN's Laura Coates launch a "Coats for a Cause" new coat drive for those in need in the Washington, DC Metro Area (known as the "DMV": Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia.) Sites across the DMV will have strategically placed collection boxes where residents can donate new coats for children aged birth to 21.
"Coats for a Cause" will run from November 1 through November 23, National Adoption Day – a day where courts across the country open fully for adoption proceedings, the most active day of the year for adoptions.
With thousands of youths in foster care in the region, and even more displaced or unhoused, the need to provide essential items is urgent.
